New Release! October 12, 2007 Rhythm Temple is Cheryl White and Tim Birchard. A note from Tim: Scott K. has been my friend since third grade. It was in his living room so many years ago, in a little town in eastern Iowa, that we made messes while eating popcorn, planned our next adventures as 'spies' in the club that only he and I were members of, jumped on the furniture until we got in trouble, and, well... acted like third-graders. And it was in his living room, nearly thirty years later in a little town in southern Colorado, that a friend of a friend, Cheryl White, walked in carrying a guitar case. My eyebrows jumped. She pulled out her old Yamaha acoustic and proceeded to blow me away with her angelic voice, her rock-solid rhythm playing, and her intricate fingerpicking. It felt incredibly natural to accompany her with alternate chord voicings and lead runs. I was staring at her hands as she played; she was staring at mine, both of our mouths hanging open in disbelief. Our eyes met. It became evident to everyone in the living room that evening that something magical was happening. Rhythm Temple is the magical energy of that first evening. It's the alchemy of our shared desire to grow, to learn, to shine as brightly as we can by opening our hearts to everyone and everything. It's our shared passion to remember, again and again, that there is no separation between anyone or anything, and that all pain and suffering is due to misperception. We forget over and over, and we slap our foreheads in recognition each time we remember a tiny piece of the puzzle. And every time we play, we feel our hearts light up like never before... almost like being back in Scott K's living room all over again. We hope to share this light with you soon.
